CES 2024, the world’s largest and most influential consumer technology show, concluded successfully in Las Vegas, reaffirming its role as a global platform for innovation, investment, and cross-border collaboration. This year’s event showcased rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, deep tech, healthcare technology, clean energy, and human-centered innovation, drawing global attention from governments, investors, startups, and major corporations.
Han Ko, U.S. Chief Editor of Daily News and President & CEO of USAKO Group, attended CES 2024 as both an investor and a speaker, while also leading on-site editorial coverage for Daily News. His participation underscored the growing convergence of media, investment, and global technology ecosystems. Under his leadership, Daily News successfully delivered in-depth coverage of CES, focusing on international innovation trends and strategic collaboration opportunities.
During CES 2024, the European Innovation Council (EIC)—represented by its Director, Jean-David Malo—officially invited Daily News, USAKO Group (a global investment firm), and Hancom, a publicly traded South Korean technology company, to the EIC’s official CES booth for high-level discussions and collaboration. Daily News was granted the opportunity to cover the engagement exclusively, providing rare insight into the EU’s innovation and investment strategy.
At the event, Director Malo welcomed the delegation and outlined the mission and objectives of the EIC, including its €10.1 billion innovation fund and related initiatives.
“The EIC has invested in more than 830 companies to date, and the European Union is always open to collaboration with partners around the world,” Malo said. “We welcome close cooperation with the United States, South Korea, and global innovation leaders.”
As part of the program, the President of USAKO Group, Han Ko, presented an overview of the South Korean and U.S. markets, highlighting investment goals, cross-border scale-up strategies, and opportunities for collaboration with European innovators. Hancom also participated in discussions focused on technology deployment and global market expansion.
Throughout the CES engagement, participants from the European Union, the United States, and South Korea agreed on the importance of closer cooperation to better integrate their innovation ecosystems, capital markets, and technology commercialization pathways.
The EIC delegation included multiple representatives and startups specializing in deep-tech sectors, including healthcare, consumer safety, and clean technology. Among the standout companies was Lumen, a deep-tech startup developing advanced assistive technology that helps blind individuals navigate daily activities through high-tech, human-centered solutions—an example of CES 2024’s strong emphasis on technology for social impact.
Reflecting on the event, Han Ko noted that CES 2024 demonstrated not only the pace of technological change but also the growing importance of international cooperation across governments, investors, startups, and media. Through its on-site reporting and exclusive coverage, Daily News aims to continue connecting global innovation stories with readers across the United States, Asia, and Europe.
