He emphasized that amid ongoing economic uncertainty, companies must adopt more sophisticated strategies and strengthen risk management practices to remain competitive in the global marketplace.
Student Competition Highlights Korea as a Strategic Market
A major highlight of the conference was the Business Case Study Pitching Competition, featuring students from nine universities and graduate schools across the United States.
Participants developed international expansion strategies for U.S.-based spirits company Switchgrass Distillery, presenting market entry plans based on real-world data and analysis.
The results saw Webster University led by Mr. David Shogren in Missouri win the graduate division, while Ohio State University took first place in the undergraduate division.
Notably, several winning teams identified South Korea as a key target market, conducting in-depth analyses and highlighting its strong consumer potential and strategic value as part of their global expansion proposals.
Strengthening Export Support and Global Collaboration
The Missouri District Export Council (MODEC) and the World Trade Center St. Louis served as sponsors of the event, reinforcing their commitment to supporting regional exporters and expanding global trade networks.
Both organizations emphasized that empowering exporters and fostering international partnerships are critical drivers of regional economic growth.
