WASHINGTON, D.C. — International leaders from the technology, investment, and economic development sectors will convene near Washington, D.C., for the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025, taking place May 11–14, 2025, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Commerce, the summit serves as the federal government’s flagship platform for promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) into the United States and strengthening cross-border technology collaboration.

SelectUSA 2025 will bring together global corporations, institutional investors, startups, and policymakers seeking to expand their presence in the U.S. market. The summit provides direct engagement with federal and state officials, regional economic development organizations, and technology ecosystems, offering international companies practical insight into U.S. innovation hubs and investment pathways.

Strong participation is expected from South Korea and Japan, two of the United States’ most important technology and investment partners. Delegations from both countries will include major corporations, government representatives, and private investors actively exploring opportunities in semiconductors, electric vehicle and battery technologies, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, smart infrastructure, and defense technology. Their presence reflects deepening trilateral cooperation and growing interest in the United States as a long-term destination for high-value, technology-driven investment.

This year’s summit agenda emphasizes global innovation priorities, with sessions focused on supply chain resilience, sustainable and clean energy solutions, AI and blockchain infrastructure, digital transformation, workforce development, and emerging defense and dual-use technologies. These themes align closely with the strategic investment interests of South Korean and Japanese firms expanding into North America, particularly in areas where commercial innovation intersects with national security.

Among the international participants is Han Ko, an investor, economic development expert, and media contributor, who will attend SelectUSA 2025 as U.S. Editor of Daily News and as an investment judge. Ko leads USAKO Group, a cross-border investment firm with operations in the United States and Asia, specializing in technology startups and international market expansion.

In his role as a journalist and editor, Ko’s coverage will focus on international technology and investment trends, with a particular emphasis on defense technology and dual-use innovation, examining how advancements in AI, smart infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing are shaping both economic competitiveness and national security. His reporting aims to connect U.S., South Korean, and Japanese innovation ecosystems through investment insights, policy analysis, and on-the-ground coverage.

As global competition for technology leadership intensifies, the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025 continues to position the United States as a central hub for international investment and innovation. With active participation from South Korea, Japan, and other global partners, the summit highlights the growing importance of cross-border collaboration in technology, defense, and economic security in shaping future growth.
