[Daily News | USAKO Group] CEO Dr. Han Ko to Speak at Chulalongkorn University’s (CSII) on Taking Thai Innovation to the Global Stage, Connecting Thailand, the United States, S. Korea and the Global Startup Ecosystem, as a key note speaker

USAKO Group and Daily News Editor-in-Chief to Share Global Expansion and Investment Strategies with Faculty and Students in Bangkok

BANGKOK, Thailand — Dr. Han Ko, Editor-in-Chief of Daily News and President & CEO of USAKO Group, an international investment and technology development firm, is scheduled to deliver a special speaking engagement for faculty and students at the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII) in Bangkok.

The lecture will focus on one of the most important questions facing today’s entrepreneurs and technology companies:

“How can an innovative company expand from its domestic market and successfully scale onto the global stage—and what is the best strategy to do so?”

Drawing on his experience in international investment, technology development, entrepreneurship and cross-border business, Dr. Ko will discuss practical strategies for startups and emerging companies seeking international markets, strategic investors and global partnerships.

From a Good Technology to a Successful Global Business

Dr. Ko is expected to emphasize that having good technology or an innovative product is only the beginning of building a global company.

The lecture will examine several critical elements of global expansion, including:

  • Identifying the right international market
  • Understanding local customers and regulatory environments
  • Building strategic partnerships rather than simply selling overseas
  • Developing an international investment strategy
  • Choosing the right timing for global expansion
  • Protecting intellectual property and technology
  • Building a globally competitive management team
  • Using AI and digital platforms to accelerate international growth
  • Connecting startups with investors, corporations and government networks
  • Scaling from a local business into a global ecosystem

Dr. Ko will also share perspectives from the investment side, explaining what international investors look for when evaluating technology companies and startups.

CSII: Thailand’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub

The event will take place at Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (CSII), part of Chulalongkorn University, one of Thailand’s leading universities.

CSII was founded as an interdisciplinary innovation platform integrating technology, business, entrepreneurship, creativity and real-world problem solving. Its BAScii international program emphasizes innovation, digital entrepreneurship, sustainability and global experiences.

CSII describes its vision as developing global innovative entrepreneurs and fostering an ecosystem capable of creating real-world impact in emerging markets. The school has also developed extensive relationships with universities and industry partners around the world.

Particularly noteworthy is CSII's relationship with the Berkeley Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at UC Berkeley. CSII lists Berkeley SCET among its academic partners, and Chulalongkorn's materials describe the relationship as a global partnership supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.

CSII was also selected in June 2026 as Thailand’s sole representative in the inaugural Future Universities Alliance Innovation Sandbox, joining 49 institutions from 23 countries.

Connecting Thailand, the United States, S. Korea and the Global Startup Ecosystem

The upcoming engagement is expected to provide an opportunity to connect Thailand's emerging innovation ecosystem with the broader international investment and technology community.

For Dr. Ko, the message is not simply that Thai companies should “go overseas.”

Rather, successful global expansion requires a carefully designed strategy:

“Globalization is not simply exporting a product. It is building the right market, capital, partnerships, technology and people around a company so that the business can scale internationally.”

With Thailand increasingly positioning itself as a regional hub for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, the interaction between CSII's young innovators and an international investor and business leader such as Dr. Ko is expected to provide practical perspectives on how Asian startups can move from local innovation to global impact.

The engagement also reflects USAKO Group's broader approach of connecting technology, investment and international markets to help companies and entrepreneurs build sustainable global businesses.
